This big, beautiful family contacted me about taking extended family photos in July, before one of their children moved away to Texas. I absolutely loved this early morning location, with the tall, golden grass and the outline of the mountains in the background. This family was so stylish! I loved the girls all in pink, and the greens and blues in between. And to top it off, all the kids were so well behaved – always a blessing! Thank you, for a wonderful family session, Ritter family! I loved working with you!
Bree is my cousin, and I was so excited when her mom, my aunt, contacted me about doing a photo session for Claira's first birthday! We took their family portraits in the beautiful blossoms of Utah State Hospital's apple orchard - the perfect setting for this sweet little family. Claira wasn't so sure about me and the camera at first, but by the end she'd warmed up to us!
Satyra and I have known each other for more than a decade now - fate brought us together in the form of random college roommate assignments at BYU in Provo, UT, and I'm so grateful it did. We've had so many shared experiences, she's more like family than a friend - as a matter of fact, we've had people ask if we're sisters, even though she's, like, half a foot taller than me. She's supported me as I gave blood on a mobile bus, participated in TPing, invited me into her parent's home to belly laugh and eat all their good food, and so much more. Now, as moms, we get our kids together to play and talk about all the good and the hard things. I'm so grateful for Ty and her family! They braved a very cold winter day to take family portraits at Silver Lake in Utah's Big Cottonwood Canyon. The kids were troopers, and I can't wait to meet her new little one, due later this month!
Just this last week, I had the opportunity to take family photos of some good friends, who I have known for a long time now! I love Haley and Andrew and their sweet little children. Our daughters were born just 2 days apart, and our youngest, boys, were born just a day apart! We also bonded when we were all newlyweds living in the same cheap, old apartments down in good, old Provo, and we invited them over one evening and Haley made the most divine, homemade oreo cookies – which, by the way, I just made last week! We had the best time playing in the beautiful blossoms of this gorgeous apple orchard and trying to get the littles to smile.
Jamie and I first met back in February of this year. She had a wedding she needed a second shooter for, and I was lucky enough to be chosen to work with her. Since then, we’ve had a few more chances to work together, and it’s been so great to work such a talented photographer. So…it was a huge compliment when she asked me to take her family photos. We took these up Provo Canyon above Sundance, along the Alpine Loop, and it was the perfect backdrop for their beautiful family.
